The Mid Year Book Freakout Tag

I’ve seen this tag many times and I wanted to do it for a while now, so when Nathasya from Sweater Weather tagged me to do it, I was so excited! So let’s dive into it, shall we?

17234658BEST BOOK YOU’VE READ SO FAR IN 2016

I must admit, I already have a lot of favorite books I read in 2016 (and there are a lot of books that earned five stars) but the one book that totally blew me away was A Thousand Pieces Of You by Claudia Gray. I don’t know how Claudia did it, but this book totally flabbergasted me. It’s probably because of the original world-building and unique story line that I liked it so much. Read my review here.

28590927BEST SEQUEL YOU’VE READ SO FAR IN 2016

Sunset In Central Park and Miracle On 5th Avenue by Sarah Morgan are probably my favorite sequels I’ve read so far in 2016. The books are actually book 2 and 3 in the ‘From Manhattan With Love’ series and I haven’t read the first book yet (the books can be read on their own) but I’m sure the books are very good sequels to Sleepless In Manhattan. These books are the perfect chicklit reads. Read my review here.

26251365NEW RELEASE YOU HAVEN’T READ YET, BUT WANT TO

This is bad. Like really bad. I’ve waited four months for Did I Mention I Miss You to come out so when the release date came I started reading it, but right after the first day I got into a reading slump and a really bad one! It lasted one month, and so I haven’t continued reading it, also because of my big (I repeat very big) Netgalley TBR pile. So I guess if that pile is worked down, I can finish this book!

28960100MOST ANTICIPATED RELEASE FOR THE SECOND HALF OF THE YEAR

Definitely A Million Worlds With You by Claudia Gray! A Thousand Pieces Of You was my favorite book so far of 2016 (you just read that) and I still need to read Ten Thousand Skies Above You, but that doesn’t mean that I’m not excited for the third book to come out. I hope I can get through my TBR pile fast, so that I can read Ten Thousand Skies Above You pretty soon! I’m very curious about the ending.

28205837BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT

That was Pivotal Moments by Trinity Hanrahan. This is a contemporary read and I expected more from the book than what I actually experienced. It literally is the worst book I’ve read so far in this year, and I just can’t put my finger on it. It was hard for me to read it (I always want to finish a book, eventhough I’d rather DNF it). Read my review here.

30240690BIGGEST SURPRISE

That’s the CreAtive Hearts series! I didn’t have much expectations for this series, I don’t know but sometimes I’m a bit skeptical about Netgalley books. But I didn’t have to be because I absolutely adore this series! ‘How Willa Got Her Groove Back‘, ‘Crazy, Stupid, Fauxmance‘ and ‘The Secret Life Of A Dream Girl‘ deserve a special place in my heart! Click on the titles for the reviews.

30290196FAVOURITE NEW AUTHOR (DEBUT OR TO YOU)

That’s D.R. Graham! I love the Britannia Beach series and I’m currently reading another novel of her named ‘Rank’. I think she’s an amazing author and she’s so sweet! I’m still so very grateful that I got to do an interview with her. When I read What Are The Chances? last weekend and I had nobody to freak out with, I asked if Danielle could fangirl with me and she would! And so we talked about Derian and Britannia Beach. Danielle if you read this, YOU’RE THE BEST! Read my review here.

28507386NEWEST FICTIONAL CRUSH

MATT! MAAAAAAAATT! Okay, so Matt from Sunset In Central Park is almost thirty (or I guess he is already thirty) but he is seriously the hottest character I’ve ever seen.. (uh.. read?) I know it’s weird to fangirl over a fictional character that’s thirty if you’re only eighteen (okay.. 9 more days before I’m eighteen) but I just cannot not fangirl about him! Frankie you’re a very lucky girl to have Matt in your life. Secretly I’m jealous – very jealous.

18660447NEWEST FAVOURITE CHARACTER

I would say Frankie from Sunset In Central Park, but I’ve already mentioned that book in the last question. So I have to go with Gia from The Fill-In Boyfriend. She’s the perfect popular girl in school figure, because she actually doesn’t live up the stereotypes of a popular girl and that’s why I love her! I can’t wait to read more books from Kasie West. Read my review here.

BOOK THAT MADE YOU CRY

It’s been a while since a book made me cry, so I’m going for the obvious All The Bright Places by Jennifer Niven. This book is an emotional rollercoaster and has such a beautiful meaning to the story. I recommend this book to everyone who loves contemporary reads with a darker concept to the story.

9627755
BOOK THAT MADE YOU HAPPY

The Anna And The French Kiss series! They’re the perfect romantic contemporary reads and are amazing for hopeless romantics just like me. I enjoyed every little bit of these stories and each time I finished them I was feeling so happy!

FAVOURITE BOOK TO FILM ADAPTATION

Literally every book to movie adaptation that exists – I’m quite easy to satisfy.

FAVOURITE POST YOU HAVE DONE THIS YEAR

Ah – too much favorites! I love doing interviews, I love my Story Sound Saturdays and (Book) Struggle Sundays with Melissa, but I also really love my new feature Musical Mondays!

MOST BEAUTIFUL BOOK YOU’VE BOUGHT THIS YEAR

Literally every book I’ve bought this year, because I almost always buy books because of their covers. Oops!

WHAT BOOK DO YOU NEED TO READ BY THE END OF THE YEAR

All my Netgalley eARCs and of course Did I Mention I Miss You and Ten Thousand Skies Above You!

I TAG

  1. You are the first blogger I found who reads the Firebird series! I’m obsessed with that series and I was surprised when the second book ends in cliffhanger. I was so excited for The Fill In Boyfriend, but hit a reading slump when it was out so I haven’t read it until now. Maybe I should read it now hahah. Aaand you make me want to read Sarah Morgan’s books. They sound great.

    Great post! x
